Boys and a war and Gummy bears... oh my.

Okay, so here is the story,
Jeff and I last week decided to go to Reno and spend some of our Income Tax return.
There are only so many places you can spend it here in this little town, and we wanted immediate satisfaction, so no online shopping.

Okay, So we knew we would be late getting home before the boys got home from school.
We left the back door unlocked and told the boys to call us as soon as they got home.
Ten phones calls later, I realized I had left my favorite, giant, from Sam's club, Gummy Bear bag open on the counter.
EEK! My gummy bears. the bears I snack on while I scrapbook. My one sweet treat I get everyday.
And since the boys have no self control, I knew they would be gone before I got home and I still had 30 minutes before I could get the bag away from them.
I called them.
Matthew answered the phone.
"GET OUT OF THE GUMMY BEARS NOW!!!!" I yelled into the phone.
"okay" matthew replied.
I told him to go put the bag on my bed, and stay out of my room.

Okay, when I do finally get home, yes, half the bag was gone, but it was my fault. I left in a hurry and just forgot to put them away.
As I clean over the next 5 days, I was finding gummy bears EVERYWHERE!!!
My sweet tasty treeat wasted all over the house. I wanted to cry.
I think they must have had a war. Because I didn't think I would ever find gummy bears in the places in the house that I found them.

Okay, so as I sat to feed Emma the other day, I noticed something on the wall.
Yes, it was a yellow gummy bear stuck to the wall.

That is all I have to say about that.

She is almost 9 months old.she has started moving around the floor. we have a 8x7 foot piece of carpet and she has yet to scoot her tushie off of it. but just yesterday she started trying to pull herself up with the help of the couch.
I know!!!! She is getting so big.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a very awesome Valentine's day!
After helping the boys make 88 valentines for school and 88 small sugar cookies to go with their 88 valentines, I got a few things for our family.
We, well okay, I went a little crazy.
We wanted to get the boys Guitar Hero 3 for the and leave a note that said
"You Rock my world Valentine!" But this Wal-mart in my little town was all out. All the girls bought them all for their Boyfriends. So now we have to go to Reno and pick it up. We did get the Guitar Hero 3 Poster and let them know that they are getting it too.
So in place of that I got the boys Lego Racers - little lego kits the bosy can play with and put together and race around. But these this year were really cool. They glow in the dark. I wrote a little note..."You make my heart Race, Valentine"

We got Emma the new Disney movie "Aristocats", I wrote a little note (not that she cares)that said , "You make my heart Purrrr".
Daddy got her a little pink and purple Unicorn and wrote a little note that said " you make my life Magical"

Jeff got me a Movie and pink roses and a blanket to cuddle up under while I watch my movie. With a promise of hitting See's candy in Reno next week for a pound of my favorite chocolates.
I got Jeff a note that is worth a new fishing pole and license. yes, I wrote a note. It said - "You've got me 'hooked' on you Valentine!

My mom sent our traditional huge Valentine Sugar cookies that my grandma used to make all of her grandkids. And since my grandma died years ago, my mom took over that fr her family. She made 34 giant cookies with each of our names in frosting on them. So yummy.
Here are a few pictures of out day filled with love and treats.

Happy Birthday Hunny!!!!!

Today was Jeff's birthday!
We had a great lazy day. Jeff called into work the night before. He isn't feeling well. I won't get into details, but he just couldn't be at work with the way he felt. Poor Guy.
But he did just lay arorund all day doing nothin'!
I had the boys do their chores so the house was nice and clean.
I spent most of the day in the kitchen cleaning and preparing food and birthday stuff.
Like making a cake, and one of his favorites Chicken Enchiladas and corn bread.
then we had cake and ice cream. Chocolate cake with home made chocolate frosting.
It was so good.
they boys thought it was a great party.

I love you hunny, Happy birthday!
He will be getting his Punching bag and stuff to go with it after we get our tax return, hopefully this week. Yay!

Oh and I am getting him a new measuring tape. the boys broke all of his. I am gonna get him a good one.

So dear to my heart....

There are quite a few people will agree with me.
Gordon B Hinkley was our Prophet. Our Generation. He spoke to us.
He was someone we looked up to, some one we admired and someone we listened to.
He was a great man. I am grateful to have been alive when he was prophet.
I am, of course, very sad he is gone, but I know where is and I know he is happy.
I will try to be more like him and patiently await the day when I will get to shake his hand and say thank you.

Prophetic Passing

I imagine he's running to Marjorie now,
Yes, running, not waving his cane.
I see him embracing his father and mother
While they keep repeating his name.

I see him now meeting his forebears,
Brother Brigham and Joseph are there.
Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service
That only such noble men share.

I see him embraced by the Savior
While Father says, 'Good and well done.
So faithful in stalwart endurance, I welcome
My noble, most excellent son.'

I then hear the ripples of laughter
As he says the reception's just fine,
But he hopes that he'll get an assignment or two
Since there's no need to waste any time.

I can hear his clear voice in the stillness
At the close of this sweet Sabbath day,
Have faith and move forward — there's work to be done.
President Hinckley would want it that way.
