Pretty Toes

I have to post one more thing.
I decide that it was time my toes needed some polish.
I grabbed the polish and begged jeff to paint my toes. (He does a really good job, but shhhh don't tell anyone.)
Then I thought it would be fun to paint my little girl's toes.
You don't know how much I giggled all the while I painted her tiny little toes.
She is such a girl.
I am am loving evey minute of this.

So much fun having a girl.

Pool side fun

We bought this little pool just before school got out. We waited 2 weeks until we could blow and fill it up.
The first week was great.
I could hardly get the boys out of it.
But then after our trip to Sac and we brought home that skateboard ramp, that is all they play with.
That poor pool doesn't get any love.

We bought Emma the cutest little pink pool.
It is about 5 inches deep. It is more of a splashing pool then anything.
But she liked the idea.... at first.
As soon as I put her in the water (which barely covered her ankles) she decided that it was way too cold and she would rather play with the bucket of water we filled up for her earlier.

Here is our bathing beauty....

I am sorry, but she is still just as cute as ever... even though she is crying.

Funny faces

After I took like a million pictures of Emma, I figured I should take some of the boys.
So here they are in all thier goofy glory...
Matthew
Nathan
Caleb
Sammy
Sweet face Emma
Now boys being boys, it did not take much for me to convince them to sit and make fuuny faces at the camera.
Emma, well..... she just makes the cutest faces.
It is just funny to me how cute she is.

Girl Shoes

Yes, I am a girl. I like shoes.
But this post is about Emma. She LOVES shoes.
I have become more practical in my older years (tee hee) and do not spend money on extra shoes just to match an outfit. Unlike my mom who has more shoes and boots than I have ever had in my entire 30...something years. (I spend my money on more scrapbook supplies)
my sweet girl has quite a few pair of shoes. I pulled them out of the drawer they were in and put them in a basket.
She will not leave them alone.
She carries them around and just likes to hold them. She is not into the wearing them a lot phase. She loses balance in shoes and she is practicing her quick walk.
And shoes just get in the way.
But they are pretty.

Here are some totally cute pictures of her and her shoes.

Now, to most of you this is nothing big.
You might be thinking..." So she is a girl, girls like shoes, what's the big deal?"
Well, my answer is this.
I have waited a very long time to have a girl and every little girlie thing that happens is one of the best things to ever happen.
Even if it is just teeny tiny, totally cute, little girl shoes.... all in a row.

Our Town

Our little town hosts the county fair. It only last a week and we have never been.
It cost money we don't have or we are gone.
They also host a parade down main street.
The parade last about an hour and it is really fun.
The boys favorite part is the candy. The paraders toss candy to the kids.
I think it is tradition in the town.
I took some pictures. We planned to sit with my good friend Jana, but when we finally got there the parade was about to start and she was clear across the street. We waved to Jana and her family and turned around and found our new good friends the Heffners. (Oh my heck, they have the cutest kids.)
It was their first town parade.
My boys sat with the Heffner boys on the curb, and us parents sat in the shade with the little ones.
I got a few good pictures.
*side note - I am not liking my camera. It isn't taking very good pictures anymore. I need a new one. My birthday is coming up.Hint hint*

In order of sitting Left to right - Ethan Heffner, Nathan, Matthew, Caleb, Sammy, and Caleb Heffner.

Saluting the flag. Jazz Band..... which never played until it was half the way down the parade.
Scampering for candy.
Main street. The end of the parade passed by.
This isn't all of Main street. It goes up a few more blocks. We even have 2 movie theaters.
I love this town.
One of these days I will take a bunch of pictures of my favorite places in this great town.
And then you can see where I live.

Just one night

Well, I got a glimpse of what it will be like when Jeff goes back to work.
He went camping with a few buddies last night. I hope he had fun.
He has been here, with the exception of a few days here and there, almost everyday since he went on Workman's Comp.
Don't get me wrong... I have loved having him here. I love that he really got hang out with the boys and Emma this summer. She is daddy's girl.
And boys have loved being around Dad.
This never would have happened if he didn't hurt his back.
He is doing well and he goes in to Reno in 10 days to see the "2nd Opinion" doctor to make sure he can go back to work and not have to go through this again.
We don't like being on Workman's Comp. It has been nice for him to be here but it has been a miracle that we have survived and done all the things that we got to do this summer.
Thank you Mr. President.
Without that stimulus check we would have been really bad off.
And thank you Jeff for a great summer.

We went to the lake yesterday....So fun.

I should have posted these last night, but I wanted to scrapbook instead of blog.
We were invited by my good friend Jana.
We had barely rolled out of bed at 11am when she called.... yes we were being lazy.... and we jumped at the chance.
We had so much fun.
We found out Emma loves the water. It wasn't even cold like usual. She splashed around and wanted to go in deeper. I didn't plan to swim so I couldn't take her out there.
Maybe next time.

Matthew came out of the lake for 15 minutes the entire 2 hours we were there. He ate his lunch and then back in the water.
Sammy had a really good time with his friend Jackson.

here, are a few pictures I took of our day...

This a on the way down to the lakes shore from the parking lot. it is this field of Lavender. If you stand in the middle you can actually hear the bee's humming. It is as loud as if a bee was right inside your ear.

I love Eagle Lake.
It is fairly clean. cleaner than most.
Not crowded...ever.
Not far from the parking lot.
and it is free.
If gas prices weren't so high we would go once a week.
So much fun.

Outside fun

The boys are outside most of the day. They are usually out there until lunch and out til dinner and then out again until the street light go on and it is almost dark.
They have scooters and skateboards and bikes and a little pool. and light sabers and sticks and there is a creek at the end of the street where they play.
The sun has browned their skins and lightened their hair.
Here are a few pictures of the fun....

We got a skateboard ramp from my dad who got it from his brother... Nathan is in like with it.
he uses it everyday.

This is Sammy and his friend Justin..... they don't always get along.....they are too much alike I think... But today was a good day.
All the boys got matching swim suits for the 4th of July. Caleb is so cute in his.

Emma likes to watch the boys play.
We have many scraps and bruises this summer and I am sure there will be more.

They are having a great summer.

I have been scrapbooking..wanna see?

Just a few pages.
My friend Jaquelle's birthday was in May.
I told her for her gift I would scrapbook 10 layouts for her.
She has been out of town. SO I haven't been able to give her the ones I have just finished. but you get to see them first.

3 down and 7 more to go.
this has been really fun.
I hope I can do more of this.
Maybe make some money....?

Lazy day...

We had the laziest day.
There was some chores done and lunch and dinner made. The house was cleaned...but mostly we had a very lazy day.
Jeff did water the lawn. (Oh man, I want automatic sprinklers when we finally buy our own house).
The boys played and played out side. Sweating and running and skateboarding, and scootering.
Matthew stayed in most of the day with Lego Indiana Jones and X-box.
I balanced the check book (only one huge mistake, I paid a bill I didn't have to and now we can't get it back and are broke for the rest of the month) I guess we are doing the garage sale next friday after all, maybe we need to turn our recycling cans and bottles for $$$$. ( yes here in this cute little town they do the garage sales on friday and staurday's)
We are okay, just tight. We don't get to do nuthin fun.
It's all good.
We have each other right.
Jeff has a major tooth ache. Poor guy. None of the dentsits we called are calling back.
I found some meds on the shelf and he is doing better.
Now my tooth is hurting. Sympathy pains maybe.
We have to see the new dentist this week anyway.
Jeff and I played cards most of the evening and night. I whipped his butt. Yeah baby I am awesome..... and humble too.
I am just babbling.

I sinned and had a Diet Mountian dew at midnight and now I am wired. The bubbles felt good on my sore throat.
We are missing church tomorrow...cause... Jeff and his tooth and me with my throat....
And it was so lazy today we didn't prep for church.
Here I go babbling again.
Okay I will go.
It is ......... almost 3am???!!!!!!
Wholy cow!
Good night nelly!

I am gonna try something

I was looking through Becky Higgins Blog...and I found a sketch.
I love sketches. I have been using her sketches for years. It helps get me motivated and sometimes when my scrapbooking mojo is not jo-ing, it gets me going again.
I have been trying for years to get published in Creating Keepsakes Magazine in her Becky's Sketch section of the magazine with her sketches.

Here is one I did before. Totally her sketch, my version.

I tried to find the orginal sketch from this Lay Out I did. If I find it I will edit this post. I wanted to show you because i tweaked the sketch.

I am gonna go for it.
Again.
maybe you should try it too.
Just for fun.
Show me your version and maybe I will just send you alittle something.
Oh and I think she likes digital pages too... hint... hint... Danielle!

What a relief....

We are not moving.
We took another look at the house we were going to rent and backed out.
There was way more work to be done then was worth not having to pay a deposit.
It wasn't really safe and we found some issues we would have to deal with this winter with leaky roofs and dry rot... and maybe mold.
It was a really hard decision, but we both feel it was for the best.
And because we put in a months notice here before we figured all this out, we had to ask to take back our notice.
They said we could be we had to sign a lease saying we woul stay here until march. It is hard to rent a house here in the winter.
So that means no transefering home until next summer.
Bummer.

Emma.... so pretty.

I am sorry to be so blunt, but she is.
She will stop perfect strangers in the store and they have to say how pretty she is.
And when we are all together, they do the math, 4 boys one girl.... we get comments like.
"she will never date... with four big brothers, she will be very protected , now won't she."

We took her again to the awesome Picture People while we were in Sacramento for her one year old pictures.
I love them.
We are going to go back and order more sheets. We left Jeff home. We knew he would never be able to resist buying them all. But after we saw all the pictures...man oh man....My mom and I had the hardest time chooosing.

Here are the ones we picked...

This picture is a family thing.

Yes she is frowning, but my little sister Sarah when she was this age had her picture taken and did not like the photogragher. She never smiled and she even ended up with a single tear on her cheek.

When they showed us this picture my mom and I almost cried. It was the Sarah face. We had to get it. No question.
Yes, She is very pretty.

I don't even care if you disagree.
I know it is true.
And you know something kinda sad... for me... when people say..." I can't believe how pretty she is"
What am I a dog or something.... she does look like me... she is my daughter right?
Just thought it was kind funny.

Oh, and Picture People asked me to sign a model release form.... so if you happen to be in Sacramento and see my daughter on the wall, call me right away.

Nathan is double digits!!!!

Yep, my second born has survived 10 years in this family.
Nathan is my "mind is made up", but not stubborn, but "really has an idea of what he wants" kind of kid.
All he wanted for his birthday was to go to Sacramento and see the new Disney/Pixar movie - Wall-E and then he wanted to get a new skateboard. And to go to dinner at Burger King.
So, we partied it up in Sacramento.
He really wanted to be in Sacramento with his cousins for his birthday.
He had a blast.
He woke up to a brand spankin new Tony Hawk Skateboard. He was shocked.
We left late to go get ice cream for the family party and snacks to sneak into the movie he wanted to see. I surprised him and picked up his cousin Jake to go with us. And Grandma Susi came too. The Movie was so cute. and he had so much fun.

Dinner at Burger King with Daddy and Papa Jerry.
After that we had all the cousins over for cake and ice cream.

He went to bed a happy 10 year old. Dreaming of doing tricks on his new board.
So he got everything he wanted for his birthday.
Happy Birthday my Bud.
I love you.

I never got a picture of him with his board...... I can't beleive it. Shame on me.
I will get one.
Probably today.
It is now attached to his side and will have to be surgically removed someday.

Ahhh..... Home sweet...home?

It was a bitter sweet site to see this town as we drove into it today.
I REALLY like it here..... But I like my family more.
I don't miss the family drama though...whew!
We did have a blast. We rolled into Sac on Saturday, June 28th. It was smokey and yucky and hot.
Sunday, We got up and got to church on time!!!! It was a really great ward. If we ever get to move back to Sac, I wouldn't mind being in that ward.
After church my mom made one of my favorites.... pot roast with mashed potatoes and carrot gravy.... not gravy made with carrots, brown gravy with big pieces of carrots. Yummy!
Monday was Nathan's Birthday... I will post all about that later.
Tuesday was slow but busy... I can't remember what we did... oh it is gonna bug me.
Wednesday was crazy busy.... Shopping for last minutes things for the fourth, and getting Emma's pictures taken. SO cute! I will post more about that later too.
I bought a few Cache Candles from my good friend Danielle. Well it was really her Mom. (who is so cool, by the way)
But seriously, I am so gonna have me a candle party. As soon as I get into the other house. (Let me know if you want to get one.)
Thursday was more running around, the boys hit the $3 movies and saw Iron Man with Daddy and Papa Jerry. They loved it.
Friday was suppose to be an early day, but Emma was up late and so we skipped the Pancake Breakfast in my Sister in Law's ward/stake. We did make it to the Rancho Cordova 4th of July Parade.

Back to Mom and Dad's to get ready ( I made THE best jello fruit salad, I will get permission from the one who gave me the recipe and then I will post it. You HAVE to try it) for the annual trip to Uncle Kenny's house for the 4th of July. Alot of my cousins go , Aunts and uncles, this year my whole family was there!!! so fun. (except for the few in Florida) My Uncle has a huge pool and we BBQ and this year was even more fun with the new quad thingy... My 12 year old nephew Coleman was able to drive, which by the way, I mistakenly took a ride with him and screamed most of the time. The fun didn't last long. Coleman and a friend of my sister's crashed the thing into a fence and turned it on it's side. No, Coleman wasn't driving.
It had a roll bar for just that sort of thing and no one was hurt.
But in the middle of the BBQ, my camera died.
So no pictures.
I will have to get them from my mom next week when she comes to help us paint. Yay!
Saturday, Jeff and I got to go on a date to see a movie...We splurged and went on the weekend and so it was only $3.50...each..... we saw "what happens in Vegas"
SO funny!!!
We wanted to leave this morning at 10am, but we left my parents house almost an hour late, then after a few stops, a sisters, target, Deseret Book store, gas station, we were off.
After a few potty stops and a few more in Reno for Groceries, Sam's and Winco... we finally made it home.
Now that I have bored you with the mundane happenings of my trip. I will go... because I need to catch up on my soaps... teehee and DVR'd shows.
There is so much to do now.
Oh yeah, guess what.... I am moving in Two weeks.
Feel free to help me, clean, paint, move and find boxes for me.... oh and pray that I don't lose my mind.
